The game officials shall be nominated and appointed by the referee-in-chief of the respective National Federation.

Inability to fulfill an assignment: should a game official not be able to officiate a game for any reason (i.e. illness, travel incidents, etc.), the referee-in-chief of the national Federation reserves the right to replace the game official with any game official assigned by the National Federation.

EBEL game officials duties:

The regulations and duties as set out in the IIHF Official Rule Book 2014-2018 shall apply for the referees, linesmen and off-ice officials.

In the EBYSL/EBJL the official 2014-2018 IIHF rule book and IIHF case book will serve as the official ruling.

Immediately following each game, one game official must text, e-mail or phone the Juniors Director of Hockey Operation (JDOPS) to notify of any potential issues.
